Homeschool Awakening is dedicated to demystifying homeschool culture, debunking the myths constantly repeated to justify government schools, teaching parents they can start homeschooling now, and encouraging families that it’s not that hard to begin. The core of our mission is to kindle a flame in the hearts of parents to choose homeschooling and re-ignite the passion of parents who are currently homeschooling. We equip families with the best homeschooling resources to be successful, including written guides, in-depth courses, individual consultations, and public speaking engagements. We want to help parents discover the richness and freedom in homeschooling.
When I started homeschooling, I was attracted to the benefits for my family and children. However, over the years, as I learned more and saw the destruction caused by institutional schools, my initial attraction turned into a passion. I began to realize that most people are being duped into trusting government bureaucrats to raise their children. Parents are completely missing out on the rich, strong relationships they could have with their children by teaching them at home. Because of that, I’ve become an unapologetic champion of homeschooling. I’ve spoken to various groups about the benefits of homeschooling.
My beautiful wife and I have been on this journey for over 15 years. We have 5 children, ranging from 7 to 17 and we are on the verge of graduating our first two from high school. Both have been accepted into private colleges and awarded scholarships. (Thank goodness!) We make our home in Colorado where we camp, hike and enjoy being outdoors.
